Chicken Meatball Sliders: Game Day Recipes & Party Favorites

Are you ready for the big game? We love hosting a football party and filling the table with plenty of tasty bites. One favorite is meatball sandwiches, so this year I made Chicken Meatball Sliders using Aidells® Chicken Meatballs, along with a spread of snacks that are perfect for game day.

Get Your Game Day Snacks at H-E-B

H‑E‑B is a great spot to gather everything you need for a memorable game day. Tyson products are easy to find in the frozen meat aisle, and Aidells meatballs are usually located with pre-cooked items in the fresh meat area. When shopping for game day, look for specials and coupons at your local store to save on favorites like Aidells Meatballs and Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips.

Easy Snack Ideas for the Big Game

I like to set up a big spread for game day. I pick up football-themed plates and napkins, then use a piece of green fleece as a table covering — it’s inexpensive, washable and reusable, and it gives the table a fun, field-like feel.

This year our main theme was chicken. Alongside Chicken Meatball Sliders we served Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips and Tyson® Any’tizers® snacks like Popcorn Chicken and Honey BBQ Boneless Chicken Bites. I also added Aidells Chicken Meatballs in Teriyaki and Pineapple for a fun, sweet-savory twist — some on skewers for easy snacking. To round out the table, include celery, chips and dips, and a meat-and-cheese tray so there’s something for everyone.

Why I Like Tyson Products

Tyson products make game day prep simple. Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips are all white meat, and the updated recipe is crispier than ever. Tyson Any’tizers® come in many varieties and flavors, and they’re convenient to bake or fry straight from the freezer. Aidells meatballs are a new favorite at our house — they’re precooked, come in interesting flavors like Teriyaki and Pineapple, and heat up quickly for an easy appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 12 Aidells Chicken Meatballs in Teriyaki and Pineapple flavor
  • 1 package of 12 Hawaiian-style rolls (or dinner rolls of your choice)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese, each cut into thirds
  • 1/4 cup finely shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and arrange the rolls on the sheet.

Using a spoon, scoop out a small portion from the top-center of each roll to create a shallow well.

Scooped rolls

Place one 1/3 piece of Provolone inside each roll.

Provolone in rolls

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the meatballs with the marinara sauce. Heat for about 3 minutes, then stir to coat evenly.

Meatballs in marinara

Spoon one meatball into the center of each roll and add a bit of extra marinara over the top.

Meatball in roll

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and a pinch of Parmesan over each slider.

Cheese on sliders

Bake for 10–15 minutes, until the rolls are slightly crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Baked sliders

Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

You don’t have to use Hawaiian rolls, but their slightly sweet flavor pairs nicely with Aidells Chicken Meatballs in Teriyaki and Pineapple. Regular dinner rolls work well too.
