Style an Easy DIY Pumpkin Wreath with Different Pumpkins

Creating a fall pumpkin wreath is one of my favorite ways to begin seasonal decorating. Autumn opens the door to all the colors, scents, and cozy textures that lead into the holidays, and a wreath is a classic way to celebrate the season.
There’s something satisfying about arranging elements around a circle — the shape itself feels complete and welcoming.

The circular form can represent changing seasons or the idea of continuity, and it gives you a versatile canvas to layer colors and textures. Reimagining that circle with different materials transforms it from simple to striking.

How To Make A DIY Pumpkin Wreath With Fall Colors

If you enjoy crafting seasonal decorations, this easy pumpkin wreath — rich with warm hues and textures — will complete your fall decor. The design combines rustic elements with a touch of elegance for a welcoming look.

This wreath is essentially a floral-style grapevine wreath sprinkled with pumpkins, berries, leaves, and warm-toned flowers. It’s simple to assemble and easy to adapt to your preferred palette or materials.
Use Different Sized Pumpkins to add Character and Texture TO Your DIY Pumpkin Wreath

For this wreath I use three pumpkin styles to build interest and texture. Combining varied sizes and shapes adds visual depth and makes the wreath feel abundant and curated.

Start with a larger oval wire pumpkin as a focal accent. Its open shape is playful and anchors the composition.

Add smaller pumpkins to tuck into curves of the grapevine. These fill gaps and create a cohesive pumpkin cluster.

Finish with rustic twig pumpkins nestled beside chocolate-colored sunflowers and warm berries. These textured elements make the wreath feel handcrafted and seasonal.

I collected many of the accents from seasonal aisles — berries, small pumpkins, and stems that naturally complement the grapevine base. When you combine these pieces, the wreath quickly takes on a cozy autumn vibe.
Finally, add fall leaves as a framing element to reinforce the woodland feel.
Add some fall foliage to your DIY Pumpkin Wreath

Tuck in brown maple leaves around the wreath to suggest an autumn forest edge. Pip and seed berry stems in brown and orange pair beautifully with the pumpkins and sunflowers, adding small pops of color and dimension.

Use stems mounted on vertical wire for easy attachment to the grapevine form. A few touches of yellow or dried grasses like pampas or fox tail add softness and contrast against the deeper fall tones.

Choose mostly neutral or muted stems to keep the wreath feeling natural and cohesive. Eucalyptus sprays, seed berries, and muted pip branches are reliable staples for rustic fall arrangements.

Layering these elements thoughtfully creates a balanced look that reads well from a distance yet rewards up-close inspection.

I love the rustic-rustic-meets-elegant feel that dried florals and muted greens bring to a fall wreath — it’s cozy without being fussy.
Attach your bow to the bottom of the Fall wreath

I like to attach the bow first, anchoring the design visually. For a farmhouse look, layer a sheer chocolate organza over burlap and shape a generous bow. Secure it with floral wire and twist the wire behind the wreath so the bow sits neatly at the bottom.

Leave extra wire on the back of the bow for attaching; wire cutters help trim and shape as needed. This initial bow sets the tone for the rest of the arrangement.
Start by adding slender Skinny pieces first

Begin building the wreath by inserting thin vines, skinny stems, and small berry branches. These are the wreath’s “foundation” pieces — the arms and legs that curl naturally into the grapevine base and create a framework for larger accents.
Slip these delicate pieces into the grapevine form first to establish movement and direction for the design.
Layer Bigger Pieces on Your Pumpkin Wreath

Next, layer in larger elements — fuller berries, bigger florals, and pumpkin accents. Place these over the thinner stems to create depth and focal points. The contrast between fine and bold pieces makes the wreath visually interesting.
Swipe Your Decorations In Glue If desired and position them in the Grapevine wreath form

Bend the wire stems at the base of your pumpkins and flowers to give them natural movement as you tuck them into the wreath. Adjust placement until the grouping looks balanced. If needed, secure stems with a dab of hot glue for extra hold.

With a few well-placed decorative elements, you can complete a pumpkin wreath that feels layered, warm, and inviting. Use the same approach to adapt this design to pumpkin-shaped forms or other wreath bases.
